# Windows 10 Installation from an Image

How to install Windows 10 from a system image created by windows backup (windows 7)

# Tutorial

#### 1. Plug in the flash drive that contains the Windows 10 Installer.

#### 2. Press the power button on the laptop, and press ESC while booting to get to the boot device selection menu. Choose the flash drive and hit enter.

#### 3. Click the repair option in the bottom left.

#### 5. Plug in the hard drive with the image on it.

#### 6. Click "select a system image" and then choose the image.

#### 7. Once the process has finished, reboot.

#### 8. Open the notes - serials text file on the desktop and use the license codes there to activate Spartan and Odyssey (Help -> License Utility -> paste the serial code)

#### 9. Make sure the software has been activated and works correctly. If it does not, then please contact Physical Sciences Computing Support group at <pscsg@uci.edu>

#### 10. Delete the "Delete now.txt" file on the Desktop to signify that the laptop is ready.
