# Logging In

##### <span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">**Logging In**</span>

<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">To log in to greenplanet, ssh to gplogin3.ps.uci.edu. If you are part of the ATLAS group, you should use gpatlas1.ps.uci.edu.  
</span><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Example, from a terminal window:</span>

```bash
ssh -Y username@gplogin2.ps.uci.edu
```

##### **X11 (For graphical programs)**

It will also help to have an X11 service running on your local computer. See [here](https://knowledge.ps.uci.edu/books/greenplanet-software/chapter/x11) for how to get that installed.

##### **X2Go (For remote desktop)**

Session types "XFCE" and "MATE" are supported.
